Rooster of Portugal - Barcelos :D

And there is almost the end of February, and this is the last post about my trips outside Porto with Artemis :( Time passed to quickly ... But this post won't be about sad stuff, so no worries, I will write here about our adventure :D As we planned our trips, we put Vigo firstly, but finally decided that we will go to Barcelos - hometown of portugueses rooster :D Some of our friends were like saying that the city is not worth trouble, but we were stubborn and despite negative comments went there :P We bought tickets to Barcelos, but we had to switch in Nine ... and there we had 3 hours break, cause no one said that they cancelled one of trains :| So we went for coffee with Artemis.

Goodies for long break :D

A break to learn some portuguese xD

And when we ended up in the city, we thought that our friends were right :| The city near train station, didn't make good impression on us ... But Artemis and me decided to go anyway, and we were suprised positivly by historical center - climat of place was amazing, and we had fun taking  pictures with roosters :D

Historical center

One of many roosters in the city :D

Me and rooster xD
After taking pictures with roosters we went further with Artemis, near the river - the view was pretty. But our bellies were empty so we decided to have some lunch - we picked up lovely restaurant with the veiw of river :D

River :D

And with our bellies full, we went down the river - so Artemis could walk in freezing water, to discover lovely abandoned building and just have fun :D

Well, I didn't wash feet :P

After that we went back to train station, cause we were tired and wanted rest a bit at Breiner House :D But on our way, we saw nice things too :P The biggest rooster in the city :D

Big, big rooster :D

And with that positive vibe I end this message :D Soon I will write about Serralves - my last trip with Artemis inside Porto...

"Sweet of Love" room

So as I wrote, here is a post about Sintra :D On Friday morning we woke up, packed our bags, had breakfast and checked out - to go to Sintra !!! We booked hostel called "She Pine Tree" in the small village near Sintra - and it was perfect choice. First nice lady picked up from train station, second they prepared for us really delicious dinner :D But first nice funny thing - as I booked room for two and I gave only one surname (my name) they thought in hostel that they will deal with a couple. So they placed me and Artemis in room called: "Sweet of Love" room. And that was a room with one double bed xD

Our comfortable bed :D
After that, we went to Sintra by bus. Unfortunately that day weather wasn't on our side, and it was raining all the time. Plus Artemis's shoes gave her hard time. But anyway we managed to see castelo dos Mouros and Palacio da Pena, and Toy Museum !!!

Castelo dos Mouros

Pena Palace

I will protect this place !!!

Friends from old times :D

Lego Knight :P
While I was running around all toys and taking pictures of them, poor Artemis was sitting on the chair waiting till I will calm down :P Well, I was running around all the places xD But luckily for Artemis our last bus was around 7 pm, so we went back to our hostel :D And there was waiting for us dinner! It was all amazing !!! Also our company - a couple from Arizona :D They were really nice, and conversation went really nice despite the difference of age (I don't know how old they were, but they were married for 24 years), and nationality. After that we went to sleep ... a bit drunk :D But what we saw next morning was again really nice. The breakfast was ... just perfect :D

Our table :D

A breakfast prepared for 4 people :D
We packed our stuff, and checked out, and the Arizona couple gave us a ride to Sintra :D During our second day in Sintra we visited Palacio de Monserrate and Quinta da Regaleira... The last one made the biggest impression on me. And what is more sun finally showed up and Artemis wasn't complaining about her feet :D Day would be perfect, but we had to go back to Porto :| I really wanted to stay longer, but life is hard sometimes ...

Quinta da Regaleira

Palacio de Monserrate
But anyway the time we spent there was amazing, and Sintra is now one of my favorite cities of Portugal :D And I would love to go back there again :P

Dolphins, sea lions, penguins :D

So maybe some people know, or some probably don't. But despite the fact that I'm 24 (omg!!!), I still like to go to zoo. Almost every year, I find some slaves to go with me to the zoo in Poznań :D This year, Artemis was the (un)lucky one :P Well, life is a shit sometimes. And the zoo that we went together is in Lisbon - in other words I had second trip to this city. We checked everything in Internet - hours of trains, hostels and when we went to S. Bento train station it was closed. That was big LOL for us :| Luckily after some minutes, the door was opened and we were informed that tickets we can buy only in Campanha. So we went there, paid 30 euros and finally got on train. Tired, and hungry we arrived in Lisbon around 9 am.

In Lisbon :D
Next we went to Yes! Hostel. We booked mixed room, and to our horror when we got to our room, we found stinky guys :P With terror in our eyes, we went downstairs to check if we can switch room. And we could :D We got nice smelling room :D After unpacking our stuff, we got on our way to zoo! It is really nice place - with white tigers, lions, bears, koala bears, and many others. But I fell in love with dolphins, sea lions and penguins :D With this order :D For the first time in my long life, I could see those animals. Poor Artemis had to observe my excitement :P She had to walk with my all over zoo, and later in the city center.

Sea lions :D

Cuties :D

Penguins ready for action :P
After zoo, we went to city center. During our walk we found amazing place with typical alcohol from Lisbon. So we bought one bottle and took it to our dormitory :D Ginjinha was the name of this alcohol.

A really nice place :D
Later we had dinner in the city center. Food was so so, bad the waiter was dumb as a shoe. No brain at all :P Well, like we could demand sth from portugueses :P After meal we went to hostel, had shots of Ginjinha and played cards and finally went to sleep :D
Cause next day was time to go to Sintra. But about that and more tomorrow - maybe :P
Live long and prosper :D

Once again Aveiro :D

As I wrote once or twice, I'm travelling now a lot with Artemis. And as one of our points was Aveiro, we went there on last Monday xD Of course like always we checked trains in Internet, but apparently you can't trust portugueses, cause there was no train that we saw on schedule. But luckily for use, we had to wait only 30 minutes for the next train. So this is how our next trip started.
After arrival in Aveiro, we got free maps, and headed to city center to eat xD This time we didn't go for local restaurant :P Pizza Hut won the battle for our hearts - 8 euros and eat as much as you want to !!!

Have similar picture from the trip with Lindsay and Charlotte

Canal

Canal and boats
With our stomaches full of Pizza Hut joy, we finally started our trip properly. Cause I was before in Aveiro, I was guide this time. I had some vague idea about the city ... very vague I would say, but we never got lost with Artemis so it wasn't so bad :) And I really wanted to see park that last time I could see only from bus. So I turned on all my orientation skills - I don't have too many of the though. But after some time, we found it !!! And to then we found ourselves in birds hell !!! So many birds, so many ways to shit on us :| But apart from that, place was very nice :P

Birds hell

House of devil
And still in Birds Hell Artemis proposed to me xD After that, we went for the rest of our trip - we just went there, and there without any special purpose. We enjoyed some kind of decoration of the city. People from Aveiro decide to place in some spots - cubes with faces on it ... Artemis had on her favorite. Guess which one xD

No coment on that

In the eye :P

Lots of small faces

Perfect face :D
When it got dark, we decided to go back home. With postcards, and fridge magnet we took a train to Porto. This time without any extra adventures, we got to Sao Bento :D
Live long and prosper :P
